Why Choose VERTEX ? VERTEX Motocross Piston kits are gravity cast with an aluminum alloy with 12%-20% silicon content, which gives the rider a light but strong piston. Piston skirts are Molybdenum Bisulphide coated for faster break in and increased piston life. All pistons are heat treated with a T5 hardening and tempering cycle. VERTEX Motocross Standard "Replica" pistons Are Race proven to be a strong and hi performance piston. · Standard "Replica" Vertex pistons are OEM replacement pistons but with Vertex special, less expansive material, specialized heat treatment and special piston profile. VERTEX Motocross "Race" pistons Are Available for a variety of models and are built with an exclusive internal form and a special external form with race profile shape, for higher compression and more horsepower. A single replacement ring is used on select race pistons models reducing frictional drag and giving higher RPM's. Race gas is recommended for Vertex "race" series pistons.
